Declaration to boost EU’s digital development

The D9+ group adopted an important declaration in Copenhagen on how to boost the digital development in the EU.

The D9+ group, which has just welcomed Slovenia, now consists of thirteen like-minded and digitally ambitious countries.

At their ministerial meeting in Copenhagen, the need to increase efforts to promote investments and innovation was emphasized. This is absolutely essential for the digital development within the EU, writes Carola Ekblad, expert in digital policy.

The business organizations in the D9+ countries, known as the B9+ group, were present to contribute to the discussions and shared common recommendations during the meeting in Copenhagen regarding the issues on the agenda of the ministerial meeting. The overarching message from the business sector was the need to simplify and clarify existing regulations.

This is absolutely essential for the digital development within the EU, writes Carola Ekblad, expert in digital policy.

The confederation of Swedish Enterprise supports a coherent and effective assessment and implementation of the EU digital rulebook and increased efforts to foster investment and innovation. This must be the starting point in ensuring our sustainable digital competitiveness; completing the digital single market; and supporting a responsible and trusted online environment.
